Wood Wins Contracts to Deliver Emissions Reductions on Australian Gas Projects
Global consulting and engineering company Wood has secured contracts with Beach Energy and Mitsui E&P Australia (MEPAU) to deliver solutions to achieve emissions reduction targets.
Wood said these strategic projects will reduce emissions intensity in line with Australia’s National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act, which is driving a reduction in emissions baselines1 by 4.9 percent each year before 2030.
Applying innovations in maintenance, operations and brownfield engineering, Wood is focused on reducing carbon emissions at Beach Energy’s facilities across Australia and New Zealand and MEPAU’s Waitsia Gas Project in Western Australia.
Under these contracts, Wood said it was designing programs to improve operations and plant reliability while optimising energy use and electrification.

Northern Goldfields Interconnect Pipeline Opens, Creating Interconnected WA Gas Grid
APA Group’s new Northern Goldfields Interconnect (NGI) pipeline was officially opened by Western Australia Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Energy; Hydrogen Industry and Industrial Relations, the Hon. Bill Johnston MLA.
APA said the NGI pipeline would provide greater energy security, supporting growth and transition in the Western Australia resources sector.
The new 580-kilometre buried pipeline connects the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline to the Goldfields Gas Pipeline, providing better access to existing and new natural gas production regions and gas storage infrastructure, especially in the emerging Perth Basin.

NextDecade has entered into framework agreements with Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) and TotalEnergies to enable the final investment decision for the Rio Grande LNG project Trains 1, 2 and 3 (Phase 1) in Brownsville, Texas and to provide momentum for the further development of RGLNG Train 4 and Train 5.
In terms of the agreement, GIP would become a majority investor in Phase 1, and TotalEnergies would become a 16.67% investor, both subject to execution of definitive documentation and FID.
