PESA WA Winter Warmer 2018

The PESA Winter Warmer, one of the WA branch’s main mid-year social events, was held at Ku De Ta’s “The Deck”, courtesy of Chemostrat, who have been sponsoring every winter warmer event since they opened their Perth office in 2013.
This year’s event also marked the culmination of a month long silent auction of a paddle board sponsored by TGS.
The event was well attended by 46 professionals, which is consistent with last year’s numbers of 45 individuals. The attendees represented a wide spectrum of companies: Shell, Woodside, Chevron, Total, TGS, Buru Energy, Schlumberger, Discover Geoscience, DUG, Quadrant and Chemostrat, to name a few.
The event commenced at 5.30pm as people started to trickle in, reaching maximum attendance by 6pm. Everyone enjoyed the spread of food that was available, especially the woodfired pizzas, which some people claimed were the best they have ever had in Perth. The bar was later opened to serve its entire collection of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails.
It finally came time to announce the result that everyone was waiting for: the lucky person that would be paddling along the Swan River,  on their new seismic-print paddle board. The winner, who wishes to remain confidential, donated $1,100 towards the paddle board to help support the PESA student members’ training efforts.
The event came to an end at around 10pm with people bidding each other goodnight and a few making plans to cap off their nights with more drinks at other pubs.
