Location: Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
Date: Monday 7th September
Theme: Energy – Where to from Here?
The PESA QLD Symposium is a full day event focused on bringing together
members of the petroleum and energy exploration and production industry here in
Queensland. Local and Interstate specialist speakers are invited to present a series
of papers which address the industry activity within the state from a technical,
economic, and social perspective.
This year’s theme will explore the opportunities and challenges surrounding energy
security and resilience in Australia, particularly within the context of energy
exploration, development, and supply.
The organising committee anticipates up to 100 industry delegates in attendance
with approximately 12 presentations scheduled over the day in the four sponsored
sessions. A selection of Industry Exhibition Booths and Student Posters will be a
feature of the break-out area between sessions.
Highlights will include insights from Sam McCulloch, Chief Executive Australian
Energy Producers on current and future energy requirements, and a unique historical
perspective on petroleum geoscience and the energy transition from the Australian
Geoscience Champion, Peter Moore. A third keynote address from Emeritus Prof
Gregory Webb will explore the remarkable life, achievements, and enduring legacy
of one of Australia’s most influential geologist and palaeontologist, Professor Dorothy
Hill.
This year’s program will also feature speakers from a range of companies,
consultancies, and institutions including the Australian Carbon Vault, Molyneux
Advisors, CSIRO, AJ Lucas Services, Omega Oil and Gas, Elixir Energy, Denison
Gas, OGT Energy and Bridgeport.
The Annual Symposium is made possible through the support of our generous
sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities are still available but get in quick!
