Nominations now open for PESA’s 2026 Distinguished and Meritorious Service Awards
Every year, across PESA, there are members who go above and beyond — organising events, mentoring the next generation, sharing their expertise, supporting their Branch, strengthening our professional community and helping make PESA the organisation it is today.
Now is the time to recognise them.
Nominations are now open for the 2026 PESA Distinguished Service Award (DSA) and Meritorious Service Award (MSA).
The Distinguished Service Award
The DSA is PESA’s highest individual honour, recognising a member who has demonstrated an outstanding and sustained commitment to PESA, the geoscience profession and the energy industry.
It celebrates those who have made a significant contribution to the Society through leadership, committee involvement and service, while also making an important contribution to our profession and industry.
The Meritorious Service Award
The MSA recognises exceptional voluntary service to PESA over a significant period.
From the members who consistently organise technical talks and social events, to those who support students, build Branch activities, volunteer their time or quietly keep the Society running behind the scenes — the MSA is an opportunity to acknowledge the people whose dedication makes a real difference.
Who should you nominate?
Think about the people in your PESA network who have made a lasting contribution.
Who is always there to lend a hand? Who has spent years volunteering their time? Who has helped build your Branch, supported younger members, shared their knowledge or strengthened the PESA community?
They may not seek recognition themselves — which is precisely why someone else should nominate them.
Nominations close on 31 October 2026.
Don’t let a deserving colleague go unrecognised. Take a few minutes to nominate someone who has made an outstanding contribution to PESA and our profession.
Nominate a colleague. Celebrate their contribution. Help PESA recognise the people who make a difference.
