As reported in the last gazette, the PESA webinar program has re-commenced for 2025.  Recordings of most PESA webinars are available on the PESA website for members to view (more about this in a future gazette notice).  In addition, PESA offers members free access to lecture and webinar recordings through Knowledgette.  Knowledgette is a knowledge sharing platform that offers content from across the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA), the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG), and PESA.

If you haven’t already signed up, log in to the PESA website and follow the instructions on the following page:

Knowledgette Lecture and Webinar Recordings

Looking for something to watch?  Why not view the 2021 SEG Virtual Near Surface Global Lecturer, John Bradford from the Colorado School of Mines, talk about the power of exploration geophysics from the oil patch to help solve the world’s grand challenges.  In this webinar, John Bradford discusses the grand challenge, delves into sustainable mineral resources, providing access to clean fresh water, gives an overview of understanding climate change and CO2 management, and finishes with an overview of the Big Picture.

Maybe you would like to go on a virtual field trip instead?  If so, take a look at Wayne Narr’s virtual geological field trip to examine the natural fracture systems exposed in carbonate rocks of Arrow Canyon Anticline, in the Mojave Desert of southern Nevada.  The fracture system is an analogue for those present in many naturally fractured reservoirs.  Hopefully you won’t need your field boots or hard hats for this one!

Feel like viewing one of our recent PESA webinars?  Why not watch Mark Lisk from Ascendience Geoscience talk about unbelievable play defining discoveries providing analogues for future success:
