PESA Gazette: We need you

The PESA Gazette is our exclusive monthly online publication, accessible only to PESA members. Envisioned to be a newsletter by the members for the members, it targets including industry updates, breakthroughs in exploration, case studies, technical talks, expert analyses and PESA state branches social news. The PESA Gazette aims to help you stay informed and connected with Australia’s energy geosciences industry. The Gazette is scheduled to go out on the second Tuesday of each month February-December. Content submissions are requested on the first Thursday of each month for review by the editorial board and upload to the system. A schedule of publication dates is included below.

EDITOR WANTED

PESA Gazette is on the hunt for an Editor to lead the monthly compilation of content for the newsletter. If you are passionate about the energy geoscience industry and communication, this could be the role for you.  The position is voluntary but reasonable expenses will be covered and an honorarium will be considered.

About the role:

The Editor leads the Editorial Subcommittee, a group of volunteers from each state who support with sourcing and reviewing material for inclusion in the monthly mailout.  This group will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating content for the monthly PESA Gazette
  • Scoping monthly themes – looking for 5 to 10 key articles each month
  • Identify contributors to deliver a regular monthly column e.g. a regular

update of their Govt. Department or similar

  • Undertake any editing required of these contributions
  • Writing any articles 
  • Prepare PDFs of articles
  • Work with webmaster to post material on website
