Still Bearish Despite LNG Disruptions, Cold Snap, Says Rystad Energy’s Gas and Market Update

Despite freezing temperatures in Northwest Europe and delivery disruptions at Australia Pacific LNG due to vessel outages, Title Transfer Facility (TTF) prices were down 8.7% to $13.71 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) on 28 November from the previoius week’s highest level.
Ongoing bearish sentiment is due to a muted gas demand outlook and ample inventories in the northern hemisphere.
Underground gas storage facilities in Europe were 97.4% full at 111.98 billion cubic meters (Bcm) as of 26 November, compared to the five-year midpoint at 98 Bcm, despite the start of net withdrawals in early November.

Tamboran Starts Stimulation at SS-1H
Tamboran has commenced stimulation activities at the Shenandoah South 1H (SS-1H) well pad within its 38.75 per cent owned and operated EP 117 permit.
The program, which is planned to include 10 stimulation stages over a 500-metre (1,640-foot),horizontal section within the Mid-Velkerri B Shale, is expected to be completed in December.
The campaign is being conducted by Condor Energy Services.
On completion of the stimulation campaign, production tubing will be installed ahead of the flowback of stimulation fluid and gas breakthrough.
Tamboran expects to release 30-day initial production (IP30) flow rates in the first quarter of 2024, subject to weather conditions and the timing to flow back stimulation fluid to achieve gas breakthrough.

CGG to Acquire 8,000 km of Multi-Client Data Offshore Malaysia
CGG, in association with PETRONAS, has announced the start of the Selat Melaka 2D multi-client seismic program over the Langkasuka Basin offshore Malaysia.
Located in the Malacca Strait, the project has received industry funding and will deliver early products in December 2023 and final results in August 2024.
Experts at CGG’s Kuala Lumpur subsurface imaging center will apply its latest proprietary full-waveform inversion (FWI) and Q-tomography imaging technologies to provide the industry with a better regional understanding of the petroleum systems in this underexplored basin, with a focus on the prospective pre-tertiary target.
