CO2CRC is bringing together leading Australian energy and resources companies and advisory bodies at Australian Parliament House, Canberra.

The inaugural CO2CRC CCS Policy Forum will be convened to develop a consensus industry view on a practical CCS policy framework that will stimulate CCS project investment and development in Australia.

CO2CRC Chairman, Martin Ferguson AM, said that CO2CRC was pleased to begin this important initiative, leveraging industry leadership to help address the policy barriers and gaps that are holding back bigger investment in CCS.

2019 PESA HORSTMAN FEDERAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

PESA is offering a new postgraduate scholarship to eligible students currently conducting research in a petroleum geoscience related project within Australia. The award, known as the Horstman Federal Postgraduate Scholarship, consists of an annual prize of $5000 to the successful recipient as part of PESA’s program to promote and encourage petroleum geoscience research and education in Australia.

This award is open to postgraduate research students enrolled in a PhD or Masters program at a recognised Australian tertiary institution. Research topics must have a petroleum geoscience focus and have direct relevance to the exploration, development or production of petroleum in Australia.

An initiative by APPEA, the Brighter program is a new way of talking to Australians about the role natural gas plays in their everyday life. ‘From gas-powered ships and the best public BBQs to the role industry plays in STEM education and supporting small businesses, the Brighter program exists to draw out and champion the positive stories surrounding Australian natural gas. APPEA will be telling these stories through stakeholders and local communities, through an array of digital channels, at local forums, through creative media and at live events.
