Nominations for the 2022 Premier’s Awards in Energy and Mining, recognising and celebrating excellence in the sector through innovation and transformation, safety and well-being, environment, and community are open until 30 September.
In its eleventh year, the awards are an opportunity to celebrate organisations, individuals and initiatives that contribute to the development and furthering of the renewable energy, petroleum, mining and technology sectors in South Australia, with the state government’s Hydrogen Jobs Plan coming into focus.
The Department of Energy and Mining in South Australia said that keys to future green energy security lie in growing the energy and resource sectors in South Australia through innovation, collaboration, and global leadership, which is why the government has committed to the bold $593 million Hydrogen Jobs Plan.
Nominations are now open for individuals, companies and organisations operating in the:
• Energy sector (generation, transmission, distribution, retail, energy products and services)
• Resources sector (exploration, mining, petroleum, quarrying)
• Engineering, Technology and Services sector.
The Premier will present awards across five categories including Community, Environment, Safety and Well-being, Innovation and Transformation, Young Achiever (under 30) and this year for the first time a new category – Young Indigenous Achiever (under 30).
The Department for Energy and Mining and its partners SafeWork SA, Environment Protection Authority and the Department for Environment and Water continue to deliver this important awards program.
The Premier and special guests will present the awards at a dinner on Thursday 8 December 2022.
Green energy, resources and technology solutions are key areas of growth for South Australia and the Premier’s Awards for Energy and Mining are an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the best of the best.
The awards demonstrate South Australia’s leadership in all areas from corporate social responsibility to innovation, and delivery, all with significant impact on the community and lives of all South Australians.
