The Queensland Branch of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia is offering a postgraduate scholarship for an Honours or MSc student at a Queensland Tertiary Education Institution, undertaking a research project with relevance to energy geosciences industry (i. e., sedimentology, basin analysis, geophysics, organic geochemistry, structural geology, palaeontology, petroleum geology, petrophysics and sequence stratigraphy). The scholarship consists of the award of $2,500 to the successful recipient as part of PESA-QLD's commitment to promote and encourage subsurface energy geoscience research and education at Queensland Tertiary Institutions.

The award, known as the Horstman Federal Postgraduate Scholarship, consists of an annual prize of $5,000 to the successful recipient as part of PESA’s program to promote and encourage subsurface energy geoscience research and education in Australia.

2024 NTGS / PESA SA-NT Student Prize for the Best Northern Territory-Focused Petroleum & Energy Resource Geoscience Research Thesis or Paper
PESA will award a $1,000 prize to the author of the best Honours, Masters or PhD thesis or research paper in 2024 on petroleum or related energy resource geosciences in SA Northern Territory.

2024 Santos/PESA SA-NT Scholarship Prize
An award of $1,500 is available for any full-time student who is enrolled at a South Australian or Northern Territory tertiary educational institution and is undertaking a substantial research project concerning petroleum or related basin energy resources.

A prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the author of the best Honours, Masters or PhD thesis or associated research paper submitted in 2022 that focuses on petroleum or related energy resource geoscience of South Australia. PhD theses by publication may be represented by a nominated chapter prepared or submitted as a research paper for peer-review in 2022.
