Abstract:

Vintage was listed on the ASX in September 2018 and in the middle of the following year it farmed into ATP 2021, a permit located on the southern flank of the Nappamerri Trough in the Queensland Cooper Basin.  Drilling of the farm-in commitment well, Vali-1ST1, at the end of 2019 /early 2020 was the company’s first operated activity and resulted in a Patchawarra Formation gas discovery.

Vali-1ST1 was fractured stimulated and subsequently flow tested in mid 2020 resulting in a stabilised raw gas rate over a two-day period of 4.3 MMscfd through a 36/64“choke at 942 psi (flowing well-head pressure).

Odin, a similar looking structural closure to Vali, straddles the boundary of ATP 2021 and PRL211, in South Australia. Hence prior to drilling Vali-1ST1, the ATP 2021 joint venture approached Senex seeking to farmin-in to PRL 211.

Odin-1, the farm-in commitment well, was drilled and cased and suspended this year with interpreted gas pay in the Toolachee, Epsilon and Patchawarra formations.  A production test of the Toolachee and Epsilon formations is currently underway with a good gas flow achieved over a 10-day period.

Vali-2 and Vali-3, designed to appraise the Vali Field, were also drilled in the same drilling campaign as Odin-1.  In both wells the Patchawarra Formation was intersected close to prognosis and confirmed the presence of gas pay and the extent of the gas accumulation. In addition, a structural closure updip of Vali-1ST1 at the Toolachee Formation level was tested with Vali-2.  Gas pay is interpreted to be present with a gas gradient established in one of the sands.  A reserves upgrade has recently been announced for the Vali Feld.

Odin, a well-respected god in Norse mythology, and his son, Vali, must be smiling on Vintage with two successful gas exploration wells and two successful appraisal wells drilled in the last year and a half!
