After graduating with a degree in Geology & Maths from King’s College, London, Eve joined the British Geological Survey where she worked as a geophysicist for six years doing gravity, magnetic, IP, EM and seismic surveys. In 1973, she joined Amoco, exploring for oil in the North Sea. To accommodate having young children, she later became a part-time consultant with Exploration Consultants Ltd (ECL) in the UK who later asked her to go on a six-month assignment to Perth in 1981 to work with Mesa Petroleum.

Six-months in Perth turned to 42 years; she worked in the unstable eighties for Mesa, Occidental, Bond Petroleum and Hadson. In the nineties, when Hadson was acquired by Apache, she became Exploration Manager through a period of multiple discoveries in the offshore Carnarvon Basin. In 2001 she changed direction after completing an MBA and moved into Business Development with Apache and subsequently became Managing Director for Apache in Perth (2003-6). After a brief period of retirement, Eve was tempted into taking an offer from Woodside as Exec Vice President for the North West Shelf Project which took her into the world of LNG and mega projects from 2006 to 2010. At the end of 2011, Eve retired from Woodside after her final role as Exec Vice President of Health, Safety & Security. Post retirement from fulltime employment, Eve served on several ASX company boards including Downer EDI, MMA Offshore and Buru Energy.
