PESA WA Sedimentology and Stratigraphy Interest Group (SSIG) and Energy Transition Special Interest Group (ETSIG) are inviting you to their first joint event focussing on the In Situ Lab (ISL) field research facility. In the morning, attendees will be visiting the field site co-located at the South West Hub Harvey 2 well site near Harvey, where CSIRO will be presenting how the infrastructure is used to demonstrate monitoring technologies and investigate the impact of faults on CCS projects.
In the afternoon, the attendees will be looking at cores from the South West Hub CCS Harvey wells in the format of the, well established, SSIG core workshop. By looking at these cored intervals, attendees will be able to better grasp the heterogeneities in the targeted Lesueur reservoirs, but also the contact to the above formation and the effect of fault zones on CO2 pathways. The day will finish at the Balmoral hotel for networking drinks.
Transport, lunch, and coffee breaks will be organised by PESA. As this is a CSIRO site, masks will have to be worn and proof of double vaccination will be required to enter the site.
