Deep Learning Seismic Inversion: A Data Driven Approach

Presented by Samir Marzouk (Halliburton)

Abstract

A rock property prediction using seismic data is a very important task that can be used on any O&G workflow. With the invent of Deep Leaning (DL) approaches, the task of finding patterns over seismic data became possible, enabling any geoscientist to execute the prediction with very confident results. That is the objective of DL Seismic Inversion solution, to speed the complete workflow empowering any geoscience professional for the inversion workflow.

A Deep Learning solution capable of training in well data, and applying on the entire seismic volume, looking at patterns on the dataset, instead of modelling a seismic trace is the next step on any rock property is the core of this approach.
