Abstract:

Apache Energy Ltd and its TL/1,5,6 co-venturers {Kufpec Australia Pty Ltd and Tap {Harriet) Pty) have drilled several discovery wells in the Barrow Sub-basin of the Carnarvon Basin since 1998. These include eight new
discoveries (Gibson, South Plato, Simpson, Double Island, Victoria, Pedirka, Little Sandy, Hoover) in the proven
Lower Cretaceous Flag Sandstone play fairway. In addition, four new fields were discovered within the Upper
Triassic to Lower Jurassic fluvio-deltaic/littoral sandstones in structural traps along the Gipsy-Rose-Lee trend on the eastern side of Apache's acreage in the sub-basin (Gipsy, North Gipsy, Rose, Lee). The Linda discovery established a new play for the sub-basin with the discovery of gas and condensate within Upper Jurassic shoreface sandstones stratigraphically trapped within the Dingo Claystone.
