Abstract:
It is ten years since the Goodwyn Field was last described in a PESA publication (Vincent & Tilbury, 1988). This period has seen the installation of the GWA platform and commencement of condensate and gas production from the partly developed GE/GFA reservoir sequences. A Phase-1 drilling campaign has recently been successfully completed and further development drilling will commence later this year. Innovative use of horizontal wells has enabled additional recovery of reserves and extended-reach drilling (ERD) technology has pushed the development envelope from GWA from 5 km out to 7.4 km. Understanding of reservoir units, uncertainty management and communication issues have been advanced.
