After widespread public and stakeholder consultation, South Australia said it was pleased to announce that the world-leading Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act Bill has been introduced to the South Australian Parliament.
The proposal has the potential to deliver positive impacts for South Australia for generations to come, South Australia said in a statement signed off by the Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act Team.
“In world-first legislation, the Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act aims to provide an orderly, balanced, end-to-end framework that considers the needs of the environment, Aboriginal rights holders, landowners and communities, as well as the state’s strategic and economic ambitions,” the release said.
“With growing international demand for clean fuels from renewable sources, including hydrogen, the Act will cement South Australia’s position as a global leader in the clean energy shift and capitalise on the opportunities it brings,” it added.
