Terrex Seismic has announced the appointment of Dave Stegemann as its new CEO, bringing over selected senior management from Geokinetics Australia.
Dave Stegemann is a highly regarded industry leader with 25 years of experience in the global seismic exploration industry, including five years as Managing Director of Geokinetics Australia before its assets were recently acquired by US-based SAExploration.
Terrex said Stegemann’s appointment comes as the company prepares to launch a second seismic crew in the coming months with a “significant new investment into state-of-the-art autonomous SmartSolo nodes”.
Incumbent Terrex CEO Greg Dunlop will support the transition to the new leadership structure and remain with Terrex in a senior non-executive role.
Mr Dunlop said the current circumstances presented a unique opportunity to secure sought after industry expertise from Dave Stegemann and other key personnel at a time when the sector was recovering and Terrex had exciting growth plans in place.
“To be able to secure someone of Dave’s calibre is a coup. I look forward to working closely with Dave as we transition to a new leadership structure. I will stay with Terrex in a different capacity to help oversee the company’s growth plans, particularly our continued investment in new nodal technology which is delivering significant benefits for our customers,” Mr Dunlop said.
Mr Stegemann said he was looking forward to the new role: “I’m very excited to be joining such a progressive and truly Australasian focussed company as Terrex, at a time of industry growth. I know and respect the team at Terrex and I’m confident we will complement what already is a successful and strong team and culture.”
Terrex’s founder and Executive Director Steve Tobin said Mr Stegemann’s appointment was an exciting development and was the result of a long recruitment process.
“We are now well positioned to continue to bring world class seismic solutions to meet our customers’ needs. We’re very pleased to secure Dave and his team to support our continued growth alongside Terrex’s existing senior leadership team,” Mr Tobin said.
