Shearwater has won a contract to conduct a 3D seismic survey over the SNE field offshore Senegal.
This was revealed in a first quarter update recently by FAR, which said the high-definition 3D marine seismic survey contract was awarded to improve reservoir definition supporting SNE well positioning and optimization.
FAR said the survey was scheduled to begin in June as part of the SNE field development encompassing the Rufisque Offshore, Sangomar Offshore and Sangomar Deep Offshore (RSSD) joint venture, which is operated by Woodside and includes JV-partners Cairn Energy, FAR Limited, and Petrosen.
Woodside recently awarded a four-year drilling contract for t the SNE field development to two Diamond offshore drill ships for an 18-well program with options for an additional eight wells.
Japan’s MODEC has been awarded the front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the SNE field development Phase 1 floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which will target an estimated 230 mmbbl of oil from 11 producing wells, 10 water injectors and two gas injectors.
First oil is targeted for 2021 from an FPSO which will be designed to produce around 100,000 barrels of crude oil per day in water depths of 800 meters.
