Abstract:
The death occurred on 30 July 1983 in Sun City, Arizona, USA, of Mr Earl 0. Abbott, a Distinguished Member of PESA. Mr Abbott was for 37 years a geologist with Continental Oil Co. (CONOCO), spending 13 of those years, from 1961 to 1974, in Australia. During this time in Australia he was involved in petroleum exploration in all parts of the continent and in Papua New Guinea, and in 1963 he set up CONOCO's first Australian office in Sydney.
