Guest Speaker(s): David Byers

David Byers has more than 35 years experience in the resources and energy industry in Australia and internationally. This includes appointments as chief executive of CO2CRC (Australia’s leading carbon capture and storage technology research organisation), APPEA (the peak council for the upstream oil and gas industry), the Minerals Council of Australia and the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) along with senior executive roles in BHP and ExxonMobil.

He has served as a member of the Australian Statistics Advisory Council advising the ABS on national statistical services and is currently Chair of the Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee (ERAC), an independent committee that assures the integrity of method determinations for the award of Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCU’s) under the Emissions Reduction Fund.
