Time-lapse (4D) seismic monitoring technology can provide new insights and information about the dynamic behaviour of producing oil and gas fields. 4D seismic is actively used to determine drained versus undrained areas, reservoir compartmentalization, pressure changes and reservoir fluid movement. Implementation of 4D data for field development requires an iterative inter-disciplinary interpretation workflow, where seismic feasibility modelling and field pressure and production data are integrated with history-matched reservoir simulation models.
This presentation demonstrates how Harmony 4D data was utilised to generate optimal reservoir management offtake strategies and support reserves and resources estimation. The presentation will also provide fresh insights for the use of 4D data to identify exploration opportunities, evaluate exploration prospects and assess the risk of possible depletion for exploration targets prior to drilling.
