“To start off 2022 the PESA WA SSIG is going straight into the heartland of gas production in WA and looking at some wonderful cores from the NorthWest Shelf. We’ll commence with the Oxfordian of Io-2 looking at the gas-bearing mass flow units and then head across to Pyxis-1 to see the time-equivalent section there and how it differs in lithology. To round off a wonderful afternoon of rock gazing, we’re going to look at Pluto-2 where we will be astounded by the clay-dominated equivalent there and also peer into the Triassic fluvio-deltaic section underlying the shales, simply because it was cored and we can; two reasons that form a perfectly coherent argument for any geoscientist that loves the smell of hydrocarbons in the afternoon.”
A chance to network with the other attendees and continue the discussion over drinks. PESA supplies nibbles, but drinks are at your own expense.
Don’t forget to book early as we have a hard limit of 30 attendees and every previous SSIG meeting has been fully booked out.
Member price $10. – If you can’t see tickets below, check whether you have renewed your membership this year.
