PESA ACT/NSW May Technical Talk

Tuesday, 13 May @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm (Australia/Sydney time)

$20.00 – $50.00

Guest Speaker(s): Cameron Fink

Cameron has over 30 years of petroleum exploration & development experience and has worked in the onshore Cooper-Eromanga, Otway, Adavale, and Bowen-Surat Basins in Australia, as well as the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and Gulf of Mexico. Cameron began his career with Amoco in the mid-nineties and has progressively moved to more senior roles within a number of companies including Dominion Exploration, Samson Canada Exploration, Athabasca Oil Corporation, and now Bridgeport Energy Limited where he is a member of the executive team and heads up the Exploration and Subsurface teams.

Cameron has a strong record of petroleum exploration drilling success working on E & P activities in a variety of geologic settings, trap configurations and reservoir types. He has principally been involved in the generation of oil and gas drilling prospects through seismic interpretation and geologic modelling but has always been actively involved in the design, acquisition and processing of 2D and 3D seismic surveys as well as other geophysically-oriented data acquisition projects over the years. Cameron received a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geophysics from the University of Alberta and a M.Sc. (Hons) Geophysics from the University of Victoria in Canada. He has professional affiliations with ASEG, PESA, CSEG (Canada), and the SEG. In addition to his role as Exploration Manager, Cameron also manages several of the Company’s operated and non-operated joint ventures. Since taking up the role in 2015 he has been instrumental in the development and execution of Bridgeport’s corporate exploration program, mitigating exploration expenditure via farming out interest in several exploration assets, and Cameron actively participates in the evaluation of any incoming New Venture opportunities for Bridgeport.

Results of the Morney Dome Gravity Survey in the Cooper Eromanga Basin

This talk discusses various geophysical techniques used to explore the Morney High in ATP2022 in the Cooper-Eromanga Basin, QLD. The Morney High is located <5km from the Inland Oil Field which has produced 4.7 MMSTB from Jurassic reservoirs. The results of the Atomionics Quantum gravity survey, the Altas Geophysics traditional gravity survey and the Cuddapan North 2D seismic survey are compared and the implications for follow up hydrocarbon potential is evaluated.
