Abstract:
Since my early studies of Cretaceous foraminiferal faunas of the Great Australian Basin, the obtained data indicated that the vertical extent of marine Cretaceous sedimentation in northern New South Wales must have been the same as that in other parts of the Basin. However, to make my contention more certain, a positive identification of the pannosus Zone in New South Wales was necessary. The then available boreholes did not seem to contain the youngest palynological zone. The recently drilled Urella Downs WRC 30944 contains the pannosus Zone.
