Searcher has reached agreement with Perupetro to produce four new multi-client projects as part of its Offshore Peru Multi-client Campaign. Searcher said this would be the first time any single company has presented the industry with the opportunity to interact with such an expansive collection of “highly enhanced exploration data which will have benefited from modern processing, interpretation and digitising techniques”.

CGG begins new 3D broadband survey in deepwater Brazil
CGG has commenced acquisition of Nebula 3D, a new, large, long-offset BroadSeis™ survey located in the Campos and Santos Basins, offshore Brazil. With an initial focus on Brazil’s 15th License Round blocks, the data is being acquired by the Geo Caribbean and a portion of the survey will provide 3D data coverage where no other 3D data currently exists. CGG said the company’s Geoscience’s Subsurface Imaging Centre in Rio will employ the latest, most advanced data processing techniques to deliver exceptional imaging of pre-salt structures in these prolific basins.

Shearwater completes survey over Shell’s Pensacola prospect
Shell, in conjunction with non-operated partner Cluff Natural Resources, has completed a 3D seismic survey extending to approximately 420 km2 over the Pensacola prospect on Licence P2252 in the Southern North Sea, offshore the UK. The survey, conducted by Shearwater GeoServices using the Polar Express, was completed on time and with no adverse incidents on 21 August, Cluff Natural Resources said. Under the farm-in agreement, Shell are paying 100% of costs of the seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation work programme until the end of 2020 or until a well investment decision is made.

AGS sets OBN production records in the North Sea
Norwegian ocean bottom node seismic company AGS has announced a number of seismic production records during an Utsira multi-client ocean-bottom node (OBN) seismic program. AGS said that this season’s Utsira multi-client ocean-bottom node (OBN) program, in conjunction with TGS, began on Saturday, July 3 and delivered a new company record marine source count in a single day. The crew achieved recording more than 50,000 marine sources in what was one milestone of a record seven-day acquisition window in all areas of the OBN program in the North Sea.

Hibiscus to decide on Gippsland exploration with 3D Oil
Malaysian oil and gas independent Hibiscus Petroleum has secured an option to become a joint venture partner with 3D Oil to acquire up to a 50 per cent non-operated interest in the VIC/P74 permit in the offshore Gippsland Basin. Hibiscus announced this development to the market after 3D Oil was awarded the permit for VIC/P74 last week by the National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator (NOPTA). The 1006km2 permit is located on the southern side of the Gippsland Basin, adjacent to the world class Kingfish oilfield.

Colombia had highest oil and gas discoveries in Q2 2019
Colombia led globally with seven oil and gas discoveries in the second quarter of 2019, followed by India, Russia and Pakistan with three each, according to data and analytics company GlobalData. GlobalData’s reveals that of Colombia’s seven onshore discoveries, five were conventional oil and two were conventional gas. The two conventional gas discoveries were made in Lower Magdalena Valley basin and the three conventional oil discoveries were made in Putumayo basin, with the remaining in Llanos Orientales basin.

Shearwater begins seismic survey offshore Cambodia
KrisEnergy has commenced the start of a 1,200sq2 3D seismic survey in the offshore Cambodia Block A concession, where the Company is developing the Apsara oil field. Shearwater Geoservices was awarded the turnkey broadband seismic contract through the wholly-owned subsidiary, KrisEnergy (Apsara) Company Limited, and has deployed the vessel SW Vespucci. KrisEnergy said that around 200km2 of the 3D program will be acquired over the Apsara development area to improve imaging of geological faults and sand bodies to aid in the finalisation of the design of well trajectories -- ahead of development drilling for first oil.

PGS and TGS announce Jeanne d’Arc HD3D in Offshore East Canada
PGS and TGS have commenced the Jeanne d’Arc High-Density (HD3D) Multiclient project offshore Newfoundland, in East Canada. The project will cover approximately 5,000km2 and encompasses multiple exploration licenses, significant discovery licenses and sections of the open acreage included in the November 2019 bid round. The Ramform Atlas will perform the acquisition, utilizing the high-resolution GeoStreamer® technology. The project is expected to complete in late Q3 2019. The Jeanne d’Arc HD3D survey borders Newfoundland’s prominent producing fields such as Hibernia, Terra Nova, White Rose, North Amethyst, and Hebron.

CGG Awarded Multi-Year Processing Contract by ADNOC for World’s Largest OBN Seismic Project
Subsurface Imaging, part of CGG’s Geoscience division, has been awarded a landmark processing contract by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). Under its terms, CGG will perform high-end time and depth imaging of massive volumes of very high-spec data from what is believed to be the world’s largest ocean-bottom node (OBN) seismic survey to date. Starting in May 2019 – and for a period of at least five years, during the maximum seven-year contract period – CGG will process a minimum 20,000 sq km of high-density wide-azimuth OBN seismic data at its Abu Dhabi geoscience center.

Beehive prospect is further de-risked on seismic survey
Melbana Energy says preliminary interpretation of the newly acquired Beehive 3D seismic survey off Western Australia confirms some key technical characteristics of Beehive, further de-risking the prospect. Melbana Energy, operator of the Beehive prospect, located in the WA-488-P offshore permit, said the near vertical edge of the build-up clearly visible on the 3D seismic provides evidence of its isolated nature. Furthermore, the 3D data details depositional patterns within the platform and the seaway that was not able to be resolved on the existing 2D data.
