Abstract:
At present, urbanisation is taking place. As cities expand, areas previously omitted due to construction risks are now being urbanised. These areas are typically characterised as those with unforeseen soil properties, unknown groundwater conditions and the risk of flooding from the sea or rivers. Thus, to utilise these areas urban planners need detailed information about the geology, hydrology and future climate impact on the area.
