American Association of Petroleum Geologists: AAPG is currently the world’s largest professional geological society, founded in 1917. The membership of AAPG includes geologists, geophysicists, CEOs, managers, consultants, students and academicians. The purpose of the organization is to foster scientific research, advance the science of geology, promote technology and inspire high professional conduct.
The European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) is a global professional, non-profit association for geoscientists and engineers with around 18,000 members worldwide. It provides a global network of commercial and academic professionals to all members. The association is truly multi-disciplinary and international in form and pursuits.
Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association: APPEA works with Australian governments to help promote the development of the nation’s oil and gas resources in a manner that maximises the return to the Australian industry and community. APPEA aims to secure regulatory and commercial conditions that enable member companies to operate safely, sustainably, and profitably.
Australian Geoscience Council: The AGC is the Peak Council of geoscientists in Australia. It represents eight major Australian geoscientific societies (incl. PESA) with a total membership of over 7000 individuals comprising industry, government and academic professionals in the fields of geology, geophysics, geochemistry, mineral and petroleum exploration, environmental geoscience, hydrogeology and geological hazards.
Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists: ASEG is a learned society of professional earth scientists specialising in the practical application of the principles of physics and mathematics to solve problems in a broad range of geological situations.
The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (The AusIMM) was founded in 1893 and provides services to professionals engaged in all facets of the global minerals sector. With a focus on providing leadership and opportunities to minerals industry professionals, The AusIMM delivers an ongoing program of professional development services to ensure our members are supported throughout their careers, enabling them to provide high-quality professional input to industry and the community.
The Geological Society of Australia gives members an outstanding opportunity to keep in touch with scientific developments, present the results of their work, and contribute to discussions on vocational and scientific topics.
The International Association of Hydrogeologists: The International Association of Hydrogeologists is a professional association for those within disciplines related to groundwater, its occurrence, utilisation, testing and management.
The Australian Institute of Geoscientists: The Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG) is the leading professional institute representing geoscientists employed in all sectors of industry, education, research and government throughout Australia. AIG is a not for profit organisation, run by members for members, which aims to advance the skills, status and public perception of more than 3,000 members both within Australia and overseas.
The Australian Geoscience Information Association Inc. The Australian Geoscience Information Association (AGIA) Incorporated (Inc.) is a national group made up of people and organisations working in any area of the geosciences at the professional level, and acts as a medium of communication for all those interested in geoscience information.
The Australian Mining Petroleum Law Association: AMPLA is a not-for-profit association established in 1976 to advance the knowledge of law relating to mineral and petroleum resources. Over recent years the interests of AMPLA have extended to include climate change, emissions trading, the environment, native title and all legal aspects of energy production and marketing.
The Queensland Petroleum Exploration Association, was established in 1959, making it one of Australia’s oldest oil and gas industry groups.
With its origins stemming from oil and gas exploration, the purpose of QUPEX is to build and cultivate professional networks to share experiences and information. We achieve this through hosting monthly luncheons in Brisbane where guest speakers from the industry present their company activities and share their ideas.
The Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts: The Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA) is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to the advancement of the science of petrophysics and formation evaluation, through well logging and other formation evaluation techniques and to the application of these techniques to the exploitation of gas, oil and other minerals. Founded in 1959, SPWLA provides information services to scientists in the petroleum and mineral industries, serves as a voice of shared interests in our profession, plays a major role in strengthening petrophysical education, and strives to increase the awareness of the role petrophysics has in the Oil and Gas Industry and the scientific community.
The Petroleum Club Of Western Australia: The Petroleum Club holds monthly dinner meetings for its members conveniently located in Perth CBD, Introduction to Petroleum Industry Seminars (in conjunction with APPEA), as well as several high profile and well attended social events during the course of the year including: Golf Day, Yachting Regatta, Annual Ball, Christmas Cocktail and January Breakfast.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers: We are the largest individual-member organization serving managers, engineers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry. We offer a unique opportunity to contribute to the profession through our programs and activities and many of our accomplishments are driven by our dedicated members.
The Society of Exploration Geophysicists: The SEG Foundation advances geophysics today and inspires geoscientists for tomorrow through funding innovative activities and grant programs that benefit geophysicists, their professional community, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, and the general public.
The South East Asia Petroleum Exploration Society: SEAPEX is based and registered in Singapore and currently has currently has 1,600 worldwide Active, Life and Student Members. SEAPEX holds regular meetings in Singapore on the second Friday of every second month, which consist of a social gathering and a 45-60 minute presentation on topics related to the “upstream” sector of the oil and gas industry.
The Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain: The objective of the Society is to promote, for the public benefit, education in the scientific and technical aspects of petroleum exploration. This is achieved by variety of means.
The Petroleum Exploration and Production Association of New Zealand: Since 1972, PEPANZ has been the national body representing upstream oil and gas exploration and production industry. The Association represents the major companies that explore for and produce New Zealand’s oil and gas resources.
