Abstract:
Preliminary outcrop studies of the Devonian reef complexes exposed at the northern margin of the Canning Basin have identified six third-order sequences within a second-order, transgressive-regressive sequence. Significant lowstand events that result in deposition of siliciclastics and local karst development are recognised. The proposed third-order sequences are a regional synthesis that provides a framework for future work using both outcrop and subsurface data.
