On Thursday 21st November PESA WA hosted a well-attended technical evening talk at the Shoe Bar in Perth. Over 40 people gathered to hear Alex Fuerst, Senior Geologist at Molyneaux Advisors, deliver a very interesting presentation entitled “Top seal and compartmentalisation in the Kingia Play, implications for porosity preserving plays”.
Top seal and compartmentalisation in the Kingia Play, implications for porosity preserving plays”.Alex’s talk focused on the complexity of the Kingia play with regard to compartmentalisation. He discussed how the intense fracturing and associated cementation had a major role to play, and the ways in which the styles of cementation were in contrast to those observed in the IRCM, with significant implications for risk/play maps.
This event provided an excellent forum for sharing knowledge pertinent to the Kingia play, and the question time clearly reflected the audience’s keen interest on the Perth Basin.
PESA WA would like to extend a sincere thank you to Alex Fuerst and Molyneaux Advisors for the presentation, as well as to all attendees for making the event such a success. We look forward to hosting future evening talks fostering excellent technical discussions during 2025.
