Abstract:
Commentary on Conferences for Third Quarter of 2021:- It's Virtual But Still Very Valuable: The 3rd AEGC Is upon us and this year sees the event move to a fully virtual format due to the ongoing Covid situation. The organising committee are excited to bring delegates together virtually at this tumultuous time, offering a high calibre technical program that can be accessed from anywhere via a state-of-the-art digital platform. The-in-person event planned in Brisbane is deferred to 2023 and the next AEGC conference, when hopefully closed borders and state wide lockdowns are a thing of the past.
- COVID Caused Consternation, But Couldn’t Conquer the Conference: In the face of COVID-induced turbulence and an atmosphere of uncertainty, the organising committee of AEGC 21, led by Conference Chair Rachel Kieft, moved mountains to make sure this year’s event went ahead, which is all the more reason why
the Conference deserves to be supported with participation and registrations. - Businesses wanted certainty and a virtual event delivered just that: It had always been our
intention to deliver a quality in-person event for AEGC 2021. When we took the initial decision to postpone the event for six months from April to September, it was with the genuine hope that the additional time would enable more people (domestic and international) to participate with confidence that the pandemic was at least largely behind us.
