Abstract:
PGS celebrated 20 years of operation in 2011, having built a business around seismic technology innovation. Where do we go now? After a brief review of current trends I focus on what I believe is the key driver and platform for technology evolution in the seismic business: efficiency. 'Disruptive' technology breakthroughs are a necessary component of progress, but they are inevitably facilitated by efficiency breakthroughs first.
