Abstract:
The Taranaki Basin (Fig. 1) was the first sedimentary basin in New Zealand explored for hydrocarbons. It covers over 100,000 km2 on the west coast of the North Island New Zealand, and is located mainly offshore (King & Thrasher 1996). The Taranaki Basin is currently New Zealand’s only producing province.
