Abstract:
Backstripping and restoration of structural cross-sections combined with interpretations of seismic and well data reveal that the structural evolution in the Woolsthorpe-Cobden area, central onshore Otway Basin, can be separated into seven phases. These tectonic phases include: Tithonian(?)–Barremian extension; Aptian–Albian thermal subsidence; Turonian–Santonian extension; Campanian–Maastrichtian extension; Paleocene–Middle Eocene extension and thermal subsidence; Late Eocene–Middle Miocene passive margin subsidence; and Late Miocene–Pliocene compression.
