Woodside PESA WA Award Program 2017
The Western Australian branch of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA WA) in association with Woodside Energy
Ltd is offering an award to a Ph.D. student currently studying a petroleum exploration related discipline. The aim of the program is
to promote and encourage petroleum related research and education in Western Australia. In 2017, AUD$2,000 of will be available
to a distinguished student who is currently undertaking full time study at a Western Australian university.
The PESA WA Award Program is open to students who, at the application deadline, are:
- Enrolled as a Ph.D. student in a geology or geophysics program at The University of Western Australia or Curtin University;
- A current financial member of PESA.
†This includes geology, geophysics and/or geoscience.
Students wishing to be considered for a PESA WA Award for the current year need to be approved PESA members at the time awards are considered. Student membership is $27.50/year and includes free access to the PESA library and subsidised attendance at technical lunches and short courses. When to Apply
Applications should be received by the committee prior to the application deadline of 17th November 2017.
Applications will be assessed by the PESA WA committee. Successful applicants will be notified and invited to a technical luncheon on 14th December 2017 to receive their award.
How To Apply
Applicants must include the following in their application:
– a completed Application Form;
– a certified copy of their Tertiary Academic Record;
– A short article (<2 pages) about their research project.
