Friday, 29 November, 2019 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm (Australia/Sydney time)
PESA WA invites you the first meeting of the Sedimentology and Stratigraphy Interest Group:
From shelf to deepwater settings: the Barrow Group in Mentorc 1 and Nimblefoot 1
PESA will hold its first Sedimentology – Stratigraphy Interest Group (SSIG) meeting on 29th November at the Carlisle Core Library. This meeting aims to gather geologists who share a common interest in sedimentology and stratigraphy around a core. The meeting presents a unique occasion for different generations of geologist to express their opinions and discuss sedimentary records: from sedimentary structures to stratigraphic evolution.
For this first meeting, PESA invites you to discover the Barrow Group of the Northwest Shelf through the Mentorc-1 and Nimblefoot-1 wells. These two wells will allow us to observe the sedimentary system from the shelf to deep water settings. The SSIG meeting will start at 2:30pm, until 4:00pm, it will be followed by networking drinks.
Who should attend: anyone with an interest in sedimentology or stratigraphy: academics to industrials, students to experts.
29th November from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at the Carlisle core library
