PESA WA invites you to our February technical luncheon on Thursday 20th February

“The West Erregulla Gas Discovery”

Presented by Andrew Farley

The West Erregulla gas field is a significant new discovery in the North Perth basin that has considerably expanded the play fairways for the Upper Permian sandstones of the Dongara, and Wagina Formations and the Lower Permian sandstones of the Kingia and High Cliff Formation. In addition, the discovery of good quality reservoir at great depths challenges existing paradigms for preservation of commercial reservoir. The discovery well, West Erregulla-2, drilled in mid-2019, is currently the deepest well ever drilled onshore Australia with a TD of 5100mTVD. Whilst three gas-charged intervals were encountered and logged in West Erregulla-2, only the thickest of these sands, the Kingia sandstone, was tested, flowing at a sustained rate of 69 mmcf/d. The West Erregulla field, along with the Waitsia field and more recent Kingia gas discovery in the Beharra Springs area already contain over 2 Tcf of proven, probable and contingent resources. The author will take the audience through the West Erregulla discovery and plans for further exploration and appraisal.
