In collaboration with a number of Canning Basin experts we’ve put together a wonderful collection of cores from the Canning Basin starting at the Permian glacials, then looking over Carboniferous clastic and carbonates, touching the Devonian reefs and of course finishing up at the Ordovician source rocks. This session of the SSIG has everything you’ll ever want from the Canning Basin (with the exception of salt which we’ll do in a separate session as the Canning salt is beautiful enough to warrant a whole day to itself), giving a lovely overview of the whole basin and just as importantly showcasing a wonderfully diverse set of depositional environments that will fascinate everyone who enjoys a good core, regardless of whether you believe that the light at the end of the Canning Basin tunnel is a new dawn of petroleum discoveries or just the freight train of exploration disappointment hurtling down to meet you!
Come and see over 1km of core laid out in our biggest core viewing afternoon yet and see what Senagi-1, Blina-1, Blina-2 and Theia-1 have to offer – but hurry as tickets always sell out fast!
A chance to network with the other attendees and continue the discussion over drinks. PESA supplies nibbles, but drinks are at your own expense.
Don’t forget to book early as we have a hard limit of 30 attendees and every previous SSIG meeting has been fully booked out.
Member price $10. – If you can’t see tickets below, check whether you have renewed your membership this year.
