Ralf Oppermann is an independent Geoscience Consultant with 29 years of broad international experience in the oil and gas industry, working as a Geologist and Seismic Interpreter in Exploration, Appraisal and Development. During his career, he has worked as international staff for various Shell Operating Companies in the United Kingdom, Germany, Malaysia and New Zealand, as well as working with Chevron in Australia. In 2008, Ralf founded OPPtimal Resource Solutions Pty Ltd ("OPPtimal") as a technology service company, to provide new and leading-edge technology services to the resource industries. OPPtimal has developed new seismic volume interpretation techniques and workflows that allow to delineate fluid barriers, fluid conduits, fault-related mineralisations or drilling & mining hazards in the subsurface at extremely high resolution. Through this, exploration and development risks and costs can be reduced, small-scale fault intersections in existing wells can be identified, ‘sweet spots’ can be directly targeted and resource production can be significantly increased. For his work, Ralf received the "Innovator in Geosciences Technology" Award from the AAPG in 2013. In 2016, Ralf founded the Resource Technology Network Pty Ltd ("RTN"), a unique global Consulting Network consisting of currently over 200 independent, highly-skilled and highly-experienced Resource Specialists and Subject Matter Experts who provide unbiased Advice, Services and Training to Clients worldwide. RTN's members are located in 29 countries and have performed more than 4,000 projects for more than 400 Clients worldwide on assets located in more than 70 countries.  RTN operates as a Service Company and also supports clients and partners in finding highly-qualified contract personnel or staff.  Recently, RTN was announced as a Finalist in the 2019 Western Australian Industry and Export Awards.
