Delft Inversion – Elastic Synthetics, Wavefields & Well-Ties
Presented by John Coffin (Delft Inversion)
Abstract
The connection between well logs and seismic data is a critical step in any study trying to predict reservoir properties away from wells using AVO and inversion techniques. This webinar looks at using elastic wave modelling to build accurate well synthetics. Then to understand how these synthetics are being formed, by investigating the scattering which is common in the overburden. Finally, it applies this knowledge to a number of cases where conventional well-ties are somewhat questionable.
